As media studies: Homework

Production:
It involves an original story, idea, or commission, through scriptwriting, casting, shooting, editing, and screening the finished product before an audience that may result in a film release and exhibition.
 It involves a large number of people, and takes from a few months to several years to complete.

Distribution:
There are many different ways that films can get from the edit house to the audience such as:
¨     Audience watch it in the cinema
¨     Find information about it on the internet
¨     Online movies
¨     Word of mouth
¨     DVD’s

Marketing:
There many different types of marketing films can be sold in a number of ways to different audiences for instance:
¨     Theatres
¨     Television and radios
¨     Internet: film reviews, social networking e.g. Twitter
¨     Print: paid advertisement in newspapers, magazines, inserts in books, and posters
¨     Pirated DVDs
¨     Online illegal streaming
¨     Trailers

Exhibition:
The different ways we engage with films today are:
¨    We watch them in the cinema
¨    At home online movies
¨    Rent/buy DVD’s online or in shops
¨    People sell illegal copies of films- pirated DVD’s
¨    Theatres
¨    TV- movie channels
